Nutrition and everything related is the central theme of the exhibit of the Netherlands in the World Expo 2015.
About the World Expo
The program of the Netherlands takes place at two locations:
Dutch Festival is the Dutch pavilion in the Expo area. The Netherlands brings you an atmospheric, fun fair-like pavilion, with plenty of things going on. Thoughts will be provoked, taste buds will be activated and tired feet will be given a break.
For centuries the Dutch have come up with solutions for issues around food, water and energy and we do this in our own particular way: Share Grow Live. This story is told at the pavilion through a central exhibition and temporary shows about, among others the future of fruits and vegetables, new ways of producing food and the relationship between food and technology. Food art and artificial food aren’t forgotten either.
Each day will see tastings, demonstrations, workshops and performances so that a true festival atmosphere will emerge. And of course there are many great things to eat, ranging from Dutch classics like “bitterballs” and “stroopwafels” to exciting new dishes. The greenhouse restaurant, food trucks and the Ferris wheel cater to all tastes.
Kids will enjoy treasure hunts, workshops and other fun things.
Seminars, lectures, meet and greets and other activities will ensure business visitors will spend their time at the pavilion in a pleasant and useful way.
The Dutch Court will be located at the Milanese Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia "Leonardo da Vinci". Expert meetings, seminars, matchmaking and an exhibition about Dutch innovations will turn the Dutch Court into the place to be for Dutch businesses and their international contacts.
The Dutch Court will be at the monumental Leonardo da Vinci museum, a 16th century former monastery in central Milan.
Business to Business
Whether it’s a company’s invitation-only meeting with a few selected prospects or a dinner for several hundred guests, this historic site offers entrepreneurs many opportunities. In collaboration with exclusive partner NCH, the Netherlands Trade Promotion Council, we will organise an international business to business programme from 1 May until 31 October 2015. This programme is geared towards Dutch businesses, provinces, regions and cities, clusters, network organisations and knowledge institutions. This B2B programme consists of, among others VIP Expo Tours, expert meetings, seminars, matchmaking sessions and investment sessions (inward and outward investment).
Food exhibition Museon
The Hague-based science museum Museon and the Dutch participation at the World Expo Milano develop a food innovations exhibition at the Dutch Court.
Museon is turning into a ‘global museum’ during 2015-2016. Societies, cultures and economies no longer operate independently, but are connected through international trade and finance, politics, ICT, mobility and migration. Our climate is changing, economic development and population growth necessitate a reorientation in areas such as energy, food and resources. Museon shows these themes’ importance.
In Milan Museon exhibits remarkable and creative Dutch food innovations.

Share Grow Live
Share, develop, grow, live: it’s the Dutch Way. We are keen to share how we deal with this in Holland and the ideas and solutions we have so we can all move forward and improve our quality of life. Welcome.
One of mankind’s most fundamental objectives is to improve our quality of life. Whether it’s financial or sociocultural well-being, it leads to huge local and global challenges. These are diverse and interconnected. In order to sustain future life solutions need to be found.
Ultimately the search for solutions to global challenges requires international collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and natural recources. We have to do it together.
The Dutch are used to cooperating, it’s part of our nature. Our geography – the Dutch Delta, the water that surrounds us has always demanded this. Our country has always needed new and creative solutions which could only be developed and implemented successfully by working together. Solutions for, among many others, land reclamation, crop improvements and water management have all been created in this fashion.
In addition, The Netherlands have proven to be fertile ground for growth and knowledge development because of our Delta, but also because of our unique decentral, democratic and socially conscious society, leading to a long history of international food production, innovative agriculture and the equitable distribution of land, water and other resources.
Population-wise The Netherlands are number 63 in the world and our land area is 134th. Yet we are the second largest global food exporter and many Dutch companies and knowledge institutions are global leaders in various food-related fields. They play an important role in finding solutions for worldwide challenges such as food security, food safety and the sustainable use of water, energy and other resources.
More and more people, in search of ever higher qualities of life: this requires many solutions.
Share, develop, grow, live: it’s the Dutch way. We are eager to discuss how this works and how, together with the rest of the world we can improve our lives even further.
